Christian Started His Very First Job and the Smile Says it All.
Before joining Light Your Path, Christian had never held a job and had experienced years of unsuccessful applications and interviews. After four months of personalised training and employment support with Light Your Path, Christian secured his desired role in the security industry.
We now continue to support Christian through community access and further employment assistance as he works towards his long-term career goals.
Liam Had a Law Degree. And Five Years of Nothing.
When he came to us, he had never worked a day in his life. The previous provider had been billing his plan for five years, with nothing to show for it.
We sat down with him. Figured out what he wanted. Rebuilt his resume from scratch. Did weekly sessions with Omar to work on interview skills and workplace communication.
Four months later, Liam had his first job. A role in a virtual court, using his degree.
On his first day, we sent him a standing desk and an ergonomic chair. Because this job actually meant something.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Most of the people we work with aren't job-ready when we first meet them. That's the point. We build the capacity first and find the right opportunity when the time is right.
Employment support can be funded under Finding and Keeping a Job, Capacity Building Employment, and Supports in Employment, depending on the plan. Not sure what's in the plan? Get in touch and we'll help work it out.
It varies. Some participants are placed within a few weeks. Others take six to twelve months of capacity building first. We don't put a deadline on it, because a job that doesn't fit won't last.
DES providers are government-contracted and motivated to place people quickly into available jobs. We are NDIS-funded and work towards the right outcome, not the fastest one.
We are based in Melbourne and work with participants across the Melbourne metro area.
If You've Had a Bad Experience With a Provider, We Get It.
This is for young NDIS participants who have employment funding and haven't found a provider that actually delivers. School leavers, young adults, people who have been through the system and come out the other side with nothing to show for it.
It doesn't matter where things are starting from. Some of the people we work with couldn't make a phone call on their own when we first met them. Now they're booking their own interviews.
We start from wherever that is. And we go from there.
